Dental Lifeline Network and Pacific Dental Services® Foundation team up with a mobile dental clinic

This June, Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) partnered with the Pacific Dental Services Foundation and Smile Generation®-trusted dentists to deliver donated dentistry. The PDS Foundation’s mobile dental clinic provided oral health care to patients in need in the following areas: Clinton, UT; Colorado Springs, CO; and Brighton, CO. Together, we were able to provide $119,416 in donated dentistry to 85 patients in the three clinics.

“It’s always been my dream to give back to the community. Through my association with the Pacific Dental Services Foundation, I’m able to do that today,” said Dr. Shelli Cabana, owner doctor of Brighton Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics in Brighton, CO.

The following is a breakdown of the impact we were able to make at each location:

  • Clinton, UT: 21 DLN patients with $29,960 in donated dentistry
  • Colorado Springs, CO: 39 DLN patients with $57,010 in donated dentistry
  • Brighton, CO: 25 DLN patients with $32,446 in donated dentistry

“We’re so grateful for our partnership with Dental Lifeline Network and Smile Generation-trusted dentists. Through our collaboration, we’re able to create opportunities to serve in ways that are transformative – not just for the patients we serve, but for us as well. It’s an honor to be able to provide donated dentistry to the underserved in these communities,” said Staci Smallwood, coordinator at the Pacific Dental Services Foundation.

A number of patients in DLN’s Donated Dental Services (DDS) program completed their comprehensive treatment at the mobile dental clinics, thanks to the advanced technology housed within the 33-foot converted RV. One patient, Allen, received a same-day crown created with the clinic’s CEREC machine.

“I’m so glad the Pacific Dental Services Foundation and Dental Lifeline [Network] connected. It was a huge plus for me to get my dental work done,” said Allen. “Everyone was so wonderful and respectful and had a positive attitude. I had a great patient experience.”

DLN and the PDS Foundation have plans to join forces again, to bring donated dentistry to more patients in need.
