DLN • Rhode Island Volunteers Recognized

Oral surgeons John C. Simkevich, DMD and Francis A. Connor Jr., DDS, were recognized at a Rhode Island Dental Association CE course for their outstanding contributions to the RI Donated Dental Services (DDS) program. Drs. Simkevich and Connor received the Clark A. Sammartino Outstanding Contribution Award for treating the most patients since the program started in 1989; Dr. Connor has helped 66 DDS patients, and Dr. Simkevich has helped 64 DDS patients and the two doctors practice together at University Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in East Greenwich. Dr. Martin C. Nager, president of Dental Lifeline Network • Rhode Island, presented the award, whose namesake pays tribute to Dr. Clark A. Sammartino, one of the founding members of the DDS program in Rhode Island.
