DLN • South Carolina Recognizes Outstanding Volunteers

Dental Lifeline Network • South Carolina honored two outstanding volunteers in its Donated Dental Services (DDS) program at the South Carolina Dental Association Annual Meeting in April. The recipients were commended for their spirit of compassion, caring and their dedication to the DDS program. The volunteers, including a general dentist and a dental lab, were presented with the award by DLN • SC leadership council chairman Dr. Kim Capehart.

Dr. Paul Giddings has been a volunteer with DDS since 2005 and is one of only two volunteers in Pickens. He has helped 7 patients in the DDS program, and has donated more than $61,000 in dental care and continues to accept new DDS patients.

Sherer Dental Lab has been a DDS volunteer since 2000. The lab has helped 113 patients with more than $52,000 in fabrications. They help DDS patients in neighboring states as well, and rarely turn down a case.
