This Mother’s Day and every day, Dental Lifeline Network recognizes moms everywhere. Through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, many mothers have received desperately needed dental treatment in order to better their lives. Just one example of a life transformed is Ellen, a mother of three, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during the birth of her youngest child. After the brain injury she was forced to relearn every daily function including walking, talking and eating. She had missing and decayed teeth, her original bridge failed and she needed new implants in order to secure a new bridge. She also had broken teeth at the gum line and no way to get the dental treatment she needed. DDS volunteer Dr. John Cummins agreed to treat Ellen and restore her smile. With help from Dr. Cummins and Dentsply Sirona, the total value for Ellen’s treatment was over $10,000.
“I will treasure this gift that was given to me out of love and service. A complete smile. Thank you and may the heavens shower you with graces for helping those who really need it.” — Ellen
