DLN Spring 2016 Update

Volunteers Change Lives

blog-spring-update-patientphotoDonated Dental Services (DDS) volunteers make a world of difference, helping people like Kathleen who was involved in a trailer accident and suffered nerve damage and degenerative disc disease. Pain medication from the accident damaged her teeth; Kathleen had nowhere else to turn. Dr. Scott Pettinato, a DDS volunteer general dentist, and Dr. Justin Burns, an oral, surgeon teamed up with Joe Bakanawski owner of DeLux Dental Lab, to provide life-changing care for Kathleen.

“The first time I wore my pearl necklace, I noticed it matched my teeth, I was astonished. It was a team of people who helped me. You never forget that, you guys saved my life.”

Environmental Scan Generates Goals

Last year, we reported on the Environmental Scan used to develop our strategic plan and determine how to improve our effectiveness. The scan had five components: Stakeholder Survey, Volunteer Laboratories, Affordable Care Act, Charitable Dental Organizations, and Employee Survey.
SuccessInformation from the scan was used to develop the current DLN strategic plan:
1. Increase Organization’s Revenue & Operational Efficiency.
2. Increase Number of Patients Receiving Essential Services.
3. Increasing Integration of Dental Care with Health Care.
Click here to find more details about DLN’s goals.
The plan is based on one fundamental notion: The more money we raise, the more people we help. Simple, just like our mission.

The Scan component documents are rich with information about the organization, our strengths, weaknesses, and, most importantly, opportunities. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more.

DLN Supporter Tribute

Check out a few of our generous supporters on our Supporter Tribute page. We are recognizing Nobel Biocare, Straumann and Zimmer Biomet for their support to many patients with life-changing implants who can’t otherwise wear traditional dentures.
