Denver, Colo. Jan. 9, 2017—On February 23, 2017—Every Smile Counts Day—the dental community will rally together to raise money benefiting Dental Lifeline Network (DLN). Participating dental supply companies and manufacturers will donate 1 percent of their total sales to DLN on this day.
Dental professionals who purchase office supplies and dental equipment from participating companies on this day can help save a life. With every dollar raised nearly $9 in care will be generated to those who desperately need comprehensive, and oftentimes, life-saving dental treatment.
“I am thrilled to see the dental community come together on Every Smile Counts Day to support this remarkable organization’s mission,” said Gordon Christensen, DDS, MSD, PhD, Dental Lifeline Network board member. “By making a purchase on this day, dentists can help bring a smile to, and help change the lives of, thousands of people served through DLN’s Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.”
Millions of people throughout the United States with disabilities, or who are elderly or medically fragile don’t have the ability to pay for vital dental care. Through Donated Dental Services (DDS), DLN’s flagship program, 15,000 dentists and 3,700 dental labs donate their time and talent and serve more than 16,000 people each year who desperately need life-changing and life-saving dental care.
“We are grateful for the commitment and generosity of this community,” said Fred Leviton, president Dental Lifeline Network. “Through this effort DLN will be able to change more lives for people with significant dental concerns.”
