DLN Receives Colorado Grant to Assist Residents With Much Needed Dental Care

Denver, Colo.June 20, 2016  A $75,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) • Colorado and Wyoming will help 188 seniors who are without financial resources through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, a program of Dental Lifeline Network.

The grant will support the work of 851 dentists and 184 dental laboratories who volunteer for DDS across Colorado and Wyoming. The volunteers donate their time and services to provide comprehensive dental treatment to people with special needs who couldn’t afford dental care otherwise.

“The support from the Daniels Fund continues to reflect their ongoing commitment to helping our ageing population,” said Steven Nelson, DDS, MS president, Dental Lifeline Network • Colorado. “These funds directly impact patient screening, and coordination of dentists, specialists and laboratories, allowing dentists to focus on providing care in their offices on their own schedule.”

The Colorado and Wyoming DDS programs have provided over $31.4 million in donated services to more than 12,896 patients since their inception (CO/1985, WY/1994). For more than 30 years the DDS program has provided nearly $325 million in services to 110,000 patients throughout the U.S.

“We are excited to be able to expand the services of DDS to help hundreds of elderly people across Colorado and Wyoming,” said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “This program works to improve the health and wellness of seniors so they can live higher quality, longer, and more independent lives.”
