DLN-CO Award Winners Make History…Again!

MDDS-live-patient-surgeryTwo outstanding Dental Lifeline Network – Colorado volunteers, Dr. Kevin Patterson and Perry & Young Dental Lab, were part of the collaborative team that presented Metro Denver Dental Society’s first-ever live-patient surgery CE course on November 21, 2014.  Dr. Patterson of Denver Metro OMS, along with Mr. Mac Perry and Mr. Mike Young of Perry & Young, were honored September 16, 2014 by the DLN-CO board for generous volunteer contributions to the Colorado Donated Dental Services (DDS) Program.

At the MDDS course, Dr. Patterson performed the surgery — extracted the teeth, prepared the ridge. and placed the implants for the all on four technique — and Dr. Brian Butler, the other lead presenter, performed the delivery and conversion of the immediate fixed implant denture. Treatment planning and preparation, surgery, and restorative elements were discussed as the procedure was performed and viewed via live feed. The laboratory procedures to convert the immediate denture to the interim fixed denture were also demonstrated.

Photo caption, as originally published in MDDS Byte Registerm Nov 28, 2014: MDDS hosted its first live patient surgery course last week, an all on four procedure with the immediate provisionalization, at the Mountain West Dental Institute. It was a huge success and the patient loves her new smile! Thank you to Drs. Brian Butler, Dennis Waguespack, Kevin Patterson, their staffs, Nobel Biocare and Perry & Young for giving our brave patient a beautiful smile!
