New Donated Dental Services (DDS) volunteer, Dr. Dilini Peiris, excels in providing dental care and it helps her achieve her passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others. Inspired by DLN’s mission, Dr. Peiris launched a unique fundraising initiative in her practice. For every online review received from her patients, she makes a donation to DLN. This initiative not only encourages patient feedback but also helps raise funds to support dental health and well-being for New Jersey’s most vulnerable populations.

What inspired you to become a volunteer for our DDS program?
I was searching for a nonprofit organization to help out in New Jersey when I came across the DLN website. What I initially fell in love with about dentistry was being able to provide my services to help those less fortunate. I have done a lot of volunteering during my time as a dentist and I wanted to expand on that. Since purchasing my practice two years ago, I have been looking for a great non-profit organization to help/partner with and I found it in DLN!
What does volunteering for the DDS program mean to you?
Volunteering brings me joy and gives me purpose and hope in my life. I never wanted to only practice dentistry with the sole purpose of having a career. I wanted to be able to provide happiness with my own two hands. I wanted a chance to change the life of an individual for the better and literally put a smile on his/her face.
How does giving back impact your office culture and staff?
Giving back has ALWAYS been one of the most important core values that my office and my staff follow and live by. We treat all of our patients like family, and it truly makes our hearts happy to give back to our family. We are so thrilled to collaborate with DLN and are super excited to help out in any way we can! We cannot wait to see and help many patients in need, and we look forward to the many lives we can help change!
