Phil, a United States Army veteran who served for two years after being drafted in 1966 during the Vietnam War, received care through Dental Lifeline Network’s DDS program this year. During his time in the military, he was sent to Korea for 13 months where he drove 18-Wheeler 5-ton trucks for a Supply and Transportation, Second Infantry B Company. His job was crucial, delivering food rations, mail, diesel, and other supplies. Phil enjoyed his time in the service and was honored to serve his country.
In the years following his service, Phil began to suffer significantly from oral health issues that impacted his overall wellbeing. He was dealing with toothaches and had difficulty eating, causing him to lose a lot of weight. These issues affected his confidence, making him less comfortable smiling and socializing.
Thankfully, Phil’s granddaughter found Dental Lifeline Network, and a generous DDS volunteer stepped in to help! Dr. Brandon Campbell of Peak Dentistry and Orthodontics worked to provide donated treatment and restore Phil’s oral health. Now, Phil is able to eat without pain, smile more, and feel more confident when talking to others. Phil even had the opportunity to walk his granddaughter down the aisle with his new smile!
