Maureen Knott and Gary Oyster Join DLN’s National Board of Directors

Dental Lifeline Network is thrilled to welcome Maureen Knott and Dr. Gary Oyster to the National Board of Directors.

Maureen is the Vice President of the Omnichannel Customer Marketing Team at Henry Schein Inc., a worldwide distributor of dental and medical supplies and equipment. She has extensive knowledge of the dental industry with more than 35 years of experience working for Henry Schein. She started as a teenager!

“The need for access to dental healthcare is critical to those that struggle to get the proper treatment they need for a healthy smile,” said Knott. “DLN provides that resource and is the reason why I am truly excited to be a part of its mission to expand awareness around this important issue.”

Maureen is active in the dental world and brings a wealth of work experience and a passion for connecting people with special needs to comprehensive and compassionate dental care. Her board service experience includes the National Museum of Dentistry, Oral Health America, the American Cancer Society Long Island Division, and Farmingdale State College Dental Hygiene Committee.

She has also served as a steering committee member of the Henry Schein Cares Foundation and is a key driver of several Henry Schein Cares initiatives including the Calendar of Caring Program, which has raised over $2 million to support green initiatives, overall health, and cancer-related programs.

Dr. Gary Oyster is a Raleigh, N.C.-based dentist and a 17th Trustee of the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and a recipient of the NCDS Distinguished Service Award, the Jack Wilson Award, and a Presidential Citation from the ADA. He is also a member of the Wake County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Oyster has served on two American Dental Association councils and has been the treasurer for the volunteer clinic Wake Smiles and has also participated in Mission of Mercy clinics in North Carolina.

“Being a board member for DLN is an extension of the volunteerism I have done in the community,” said Dr. Oyster. “It is rewarding to help restore a smile or alleviate pain and your reimbursement is a hug or a tearful look of thanks for what you have done. No worry about monetary reimbursement.”
