Daniels Fund Grant to Dental Lifeline Network Supports Treatments for Senior Citizens in Colorado and Wyoming

Denver, Colo. – April 4, 2018 – A $75,000 grant to Dental Lifeline Network from the Daniels Fund will help support DLN and its mission to enhance lives and increase the number of seniors DLN can assist through its Donated Dental Services (DDS) programs in Colorado and Wyoming.

The grant designates $50,000 to DLN • Colorado and $25,000 to DLN • Wyoming for each state’s DDS program. With the funds, it is anticipated that the DDS program will be able to serve 190 more seniors in Colorado and 40 more seniors in Wyoming over the next year.

“Support for Dental Lifeline Network helps us achieve our objective to support wellness programs that maximize senior citizens’ independence and quality of life,” said Linda Childears, President & CEO of the Daniels Fund.

The funds will support the costs of dental treatments to those who are elderly and suffering from daily pain of dental disease through DLN’s flagship program Donated Dental Services (DDS).

“Thanks to the Daniels Fund, people in need of dental treatments will get the help needed to improve their overall health and regain their self-confidence,” said Steven R. Nelson, DDS, MS, President of DLN • Colorado. “It would not be possible to operate the DDS program without the help of organizations like The Daniels Fund.”

Millions of people throughout the United States with disabilities, or who are elderly or medically fragile don’t have the ability to pay for vital dental care.  Through DDS, DLN’s flagship program, 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,500 dental labs donate their time and talent and serve more than 16,000 people each year who desperately need life-changing and life-saving dental care.

The Colorado and Wyoming DDS programs have provided over $33.7million in donated services to more than 13,237 patients since their inception (CO/1985, WY/1994). For more than 30 years the DDS program has provided nearly $325 million in services to 110,000 patients throughout the U.S.
