Dental Lifeline Network Welcomes Brett Kessler, DDS to the National Board of Directors

Dental Lifeline Network welcomes two new members to the National Board, Dr. Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch and Dr. Brett Kessler.

Recently, Dr. Murdoch-Kinch was named Dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry at IUPUI, which has been a leader in collaborating with Dental Lifeline Network. She is the 10th Dean and first female in the school’s history.

She attended Dalhousie University where she got a Doctor of Dental Surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. For several years, she was a dentist at the Craniofacial Anomalies/Cleft Palate Clinic at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. In the early part of the 2000s, Dr. Murdoch-Kinch practiced oral medicine within the Hospital Dentistry Clinic at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Murdoch-Kinch has more than 10 years of experience providing care in a hospital setting, which helped her recognize both the unmet need in the community and the impact that individual dentists had through Donated Dental Services. While at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, she established the Delta Dental Foundation Special Care Clinic, which gave specific training for dental students. This clinic made it possible for the students to provide care for these patients once they start practicing after graduation.

“I believe in the power of one. Each of us can make a huge impact, using our hearts, our minds, and our hands, to improve the life of a person in need.”

Brett Kessler is a general dentist and the Fourteenth District Trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). He started on his career path at the University of Iowa for undergrad, attended dental school in Illinois, and taught at the University of Michigan in the department of hospital dentistry.

Dr. Kessler has been recognized as a 5280 Magazine, “Top Dentist” every year since 2006 and was featured by the Denver Post as the top dentist in the Denver metro area.

Fueled by his passion for personal growth, wellness, and fitness, Dr. Kessler travels the globe to speak about leadership and wellbeing issues, including addiction. That same passion drove Dr. Kessler to join DLN’s National Board.

We asked Dr. Kessler about the work he’s done with DLN and he said, “There is a huge void in access to dental care in Colorado. Dental Lifeline Network provides a much-needed avenue for people who fall through the cracks. The patients I have treated through Donated Dental Services (DDS) have needed this treatment so badly so they can face the world with dignity pain-free. I am proud to help further the mission of DLN!”

Welcome to Dental Lifeline Network, Dr. Murdoch-Kinch and Dr. Kessler!
