Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has awarded a $12,500 grant to Dental Lifeline Network • Maine to help vulnerable individuals in the state get critical dental care through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.
This grant will support Dental Lifeline Network’s efforts to help 70 people receive $250,000 in comprehensive dental care. DLN appreciates the invaluable support of the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation.
The funds will support the coordination of services provided through 140 dentists and 15 dental laboratories who volunteer for the DDS program in Maine. DDS volunteers donate comprehensive treatment to people living with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile.
The Maine DDS program has provided more than $6.7 million in donated services to over 1,700 patients since it began in 1999. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation’s grant is a significant contribution to the cumulative national progress made for the DDS program. For over 50 years, DLN has partnered with volunteer dentists, laboratories, and strategic corporate partners across the country and connected people in need to comprehensive dentistry, exceeding $579 million dollars in donated treatment for over 172,000 individuals nationwide.
“We are grateful to the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation for this $12,500 grant. This funding directly strengthens Maine’s DDS program, ensuring we can continue transforming lives through essential oral health care,” said Dr. Kathleen O’Loughlin, Dental Lifeline Network • Maine Leadership Council Member.
“Whether it’s due to finances, a lack of transportation or the inability to find a provider experienced in treating patients with disabilities, many Maine residents go without much needed oral health care, explained Jennifer Beyer, Senior Manager, Corporate Giving, Northeast Delta Dental. “We appreciate that Dental Lifeline Network is able to connect these patients with providers.”
Northeast Delta Dental provides invaluable support to the DDS program in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
