$30,000 Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation Supports
Dental Lifeline Network • Arizona
Denver – October 14, 2022 In January 2022, the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to Dental Lifeline Network • Arizona to help vulnerable individuals in the state get critical dental care through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.
This generous grant supports the coordination of services provided to Arizona’s vulnerable senior population through the 160 dentists and 63 dental laboratories who volunteer for Arizona’s DDS program. With Delta Dental of Arizona’s support, DLN is on track to provide care valued at $300,000 to 60 older adults across Arizona this year, while also initiating coordination for an additional 25 seniors across the state, who will soon receive treatment as well.
The Arizona DDS program has provided almost $3.9 million in donated services to 642 patients since it began in 2002. The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation’s grant has provided a significant contribution to the cumulative progress happening for the DDS program nationally. For over 35 years, DLN has partnered with volunteer dentists, laboratories, and strategic corporate partners across the country and connected people with special needs to comprehensive dentistry, which has amounted to over $521 million in donated treatment, providing nearly 168,000 patients with life-changing dental care.
“We are thrilled by the generosity of Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation, and their ongoing commitment to improve our communities’ health by promoting dental care,” said Dr. Victoria Griego, Dental Lifeline Network • Arizona Leadership Council Chair. “Through this grant, Delta Dental has enabled us to provide life-changing treatments to seniors across Arizona who desperately need it, but are otherwise unable to access it.”
“Seniors in our community with poor oral health tend to face extra hurdles in getting dental care. By supporting this program, we are making it easier for these vulnerable Arizonans to get the care they need, which will ultimately improve their quality of life,” said Michael Jones, president and chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Arizona and chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation.
