DLN • RI Donated Dental Services Achieves Milestone of $9M in Donated Treatment

Dental Lifeline Network •Rhode Island achieves milestone of $9,000,000 in dental care to Rhode Island residents.

On July 31, 2026, Senator Jack Reed signed a proclamation commemorating the $9,000,000 in treatment and the volunteer dentists and laboratories responsible for this milestone. It was presented to Dr. Mary McCabe (Board Chair) and Dr. Ricardo Burdiel (Board member and longtime volunteer provider). Since Dental Lifeline Network • Rhode Island’s inception in 1989, close to 4,000 patients have received dental care from 450 volunteer dentists.

Dental Lifeline Network • Rhode Island was established in 1989, together with the Rhode Island Dental Association. Within the past year alone, this program has served 88 patients with the support of 178 volunteer dentists and 19 dental laboratories.

“Our Rhode Island volunteer dentists and dental laboratories have significantly impacted both the oral health and the general health of Rhode Island residents,” shared Dr. McCabe. “Our community of partners, donors, volunteers and board members together celebrate the achievement of this important milestone and remain committed to the mission of Dental Lifeline Network.”
