Third-Annual Every Smile Counts Day Helps Dental Professionals Rally to Meet a Growing Need for Donated Services

DENVER, Colo., February 14, 2019 – Thousands of dental professionals will celebrate the third-annual 2019 Every Smile Counts Day on February 21 by donating a portion of their supply and equipment purchases from participating companies to support Dental Lifeline Network (DLN).

Millions of Americans are unable to smile, work or live full lives due to significant dental concerns. DLN provides the care they need by connecting those who cannot afford dental care, people with disabilities or who are medically fragile, and the elderly to its Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.

“The need for donated dental services is great, as we have more than 11,000 people currently on a waitlist to receive desperately needed services,” said Dental Lifeline Network CEO, Fred Leviton. “We are so grateful to the dental community for coming together each year to support this urgent need.”

Thanks to Every Smile Counts Day, every dollar donated to DLN generates nearly $9 in care through DDS.

DDS includes a national network of 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,500 dental laboratories across the United States that provide free, comprehensive – and often life-saving – dental treatment. Since its inception in 1985, the DDS program has surpassed $378 million in donated dental therapies, transforming the lives of more than 120,000 individuals.
